Installing CM-14.1 with Android Nougat-7.1 on Moto G-1st Generation(XT1033)

Hola Friends,

Today I am going to explain you the process of installing CM-14.1 Nightly on your Moto-G 1st Generation.

Before starting make sure your device’s bootloader is unlocked(this may void your phone warranty) and you have installed a custom recovery mod like TWRP or Cynogen Custom Recovery.

First all you need to do is download the CM-14.1 Nightly build from official from official website or from my shared google drive folder and the Open Gapps package from official website or from my shared google drive folder, then copy those in your Phone’s Storage.

Next thing you need to do is Reboot into TWRP Recovery Mode of your device by pressing Volume Down + Power Key simultaneously and click on

Wipe -> Advanced Wipe

Then check the following options

Dalvik/ART Cache
Data
Cache
System

and make you don’t check Internal Storage option it will delete the ROM file from your phone and you will not be able to install the ROM then swipe to wipe the data.

After completion go to main TWRP options by pressing back option and click on

Install -> choose the CM-14.1 Zip file and then swipe to install the ROM file.

After installation, you will need to install the Open GApps zip file for Google Apps by simply clicking on

Install -> choose OpenGapps Zip file from main TWRP Screen.

After completing GApps install all you need to do it Tap on Reboot option and your device will reboot in CM-14.1.

At start you might need to set up device completely by adding your google account and installing apps.

After the process completes enjoy the latest Android Nougat-7.1.

Till now I have not seen any bugs, random reboots or any other issues in fact post installation the battery backup has improved a lot so best of luck.

Note:

Before starting

If you are downloading Open GApps from official website then make sure you select following options
- Platform : ARM
- Android : 7.1
- Variant : any but pico is the Lightest version, you may choose any option (except tvstock)
Make sure your device’s bootloader is unlocked and device has a custom recover mod(recommended TWRP)
Unlocking bootloader might void your device’s warranty.
I have installed tested the ROM on Moto G-1st Generation not sure about other devices.

Android Nougat 7.0 with Google Pixel Launcher running on Moto G 1st Gen 😉

Launched on 6th September-2016

Android Nougat-7.0 is officially launched for many devices including Moto G-4 and Nexus Family devices and few LG devices but you can taste Android Nougat-7.1 only on Google Pixel devices which will also have a brand new Google Assistant and a new Pixel Launcher.

Multi-window View option (main feature).
Enhanced Battery saver and improved Battery performance.
Revamped notification panel gives you Quick access to Quick Settings.
Finally clear all option for recent apps.

Android Marshmallow-6.0 in Action

Launched on October-2015

Android Marshmallow code name Android M was first introduced in google I/O- May-2015 and officially released in October-2015.

There is no much improvement as per UI and UX is concerned but in Android M google introduced App specific permissions in which you can give permission to app whenever the app wants to use the component or any system feature like Microphone, GPS or Camera.

They also added built in support for Finger print scanner.

Apple launched their first android app and the name is “Move to iOS“, it’s not a joke.

Google is back with Android 6.0-M they named it Android Marshmallow.

Google added the news on official blog of Android Developers read more here.

Android M Mascot

Google also said that Nexus devices will get Android OTA update soon in next couple of days.

Android Marshmallow will be Android Version-6.0 and Android Marshmallow will be on Android API level 23 so nexus user best of luck and lets hope that other Android Devices will get this update soon.
